Dear Editor:
Media commentariat have been dancing all around the Supreme Court decision in the McCutcheon case, but it boils down to this: MONEY = SPEECH.
The hair-splitting arguments about "corruption" or the "appearance of corruption" of money in the electoral process is absurd in the face of MONEY = SPEECH...which is, itself, a corruption of language.
The corruption of language is one of the basic techniques by which the Nazis rose legally to power in post WW1 Germany.
Beware of those who corrupt the language. That is an evil beyond money and speech.
