Graduation at Pittsburg State University is an exciting time. I like it because as I make my photographs of the graduates who have earned their various degrees I can't help but ponder where the world is going to take them. All the different career paths, some close to home, some far away. How their lives will be changing as they prepare to take on the challenges of a career. I think back on my graduation and the thoughts I had as I finally reached my goal. Pittsburg State winter commencement is on Friday but this past Monday morning I had that inspired feeling a little early as I covered a ceremony for PSU student teachers. The graduates were recognized and received Gorilla split-face medallions and recited “The Teacher’s Oath," as a group. They have reached their goal, and once again I pondered the excitement they must feel having accomplished their ambitions at Pittsburg State, and think about where their future journey might take them.
