Holi, the Indian spring Festival of Colors has become an assignment I look forward to. I love lots and lots of color. You can't get much more colorful than at this celebration. This is the second time I have covered Holi. Last year I was overwelmed and didn't really know what to expect. This year when the Pittsburg State Indian Student Association announced that they would have their public celebration at Gorilla Village I knew what they would do and how to better go about covering it. The problem for me is that I have other assignments to cover and so I can't really participate and get covered with colored powder or water. This is not the event to stay clean at. So, I had to find a way to cover it and get all the wonderful color photographed but at the same time stay out of the middle of the fun. Some day I will go to participate, but when working I have to stay out of the way and document. I did end up with photos I really liked. It was fun. I have added a link to the story by Nikki Patrick and a photo gallery from the celebration.
