A recent KWCH-TV survey conducted by SurveyUSA shows that U.S. Rep. Jerry Moran leads GOP rival U.S. Rep. Todd Tiahrt by 20 points in the primary for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Sam Brownback.

The poll shows Moran with 53 percent over Tiahrt's 33 percent, with a margin of error of 3.7 percent. There were 721 likely GOP primary voters polled.

The exclusive scientific survey conducted between June 24 and 27 by SurveyUSA asked, “If the (Republican/Democratic) Primary for United States Senate were today, who would you vote for?”

Order of candidate names was rotated for each call during polling; results below are posted in alphabetical order.

On the Democrat side, Baker University school administrator Lisa Johnston holds a lead of 24 percent to Charles Schollenberger's 16 percent. There were 35 percent of Democrats polled that were undecided. The margin of error was 5.2 percent.

There were 364 likely Democrat primary voters polled.

The primary election is scheduled for Aug. 3.
