Plans have been made for Wesley House and The Salvation Army to continue their Back-To-School program this year.
The program is designed to help low-income families in Crawford County with shoes, school supplies and clothing for children from kindergarten through 12th grade. A grant from the Pritchett Trust will allow Wesley House to issue vouchers for a new pair of jeans.
Applications for assistance will be taken at Wesley House from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Those applying must have a completed file at Wesley House — a photo ID, Social Security cards for everyone in the household, proof of residence and proof of income for the household.
Distribution of all school supplies and vouchers will take place at Wesley House, 411 E. 12th Street in Pittsburg, on Friday, Aug. 7. Appointments will be made when applications are taken.
Anyone who wants to donate to the supply fund should mail a donation to Wesley House or call 620-232-3760, ext. 10.
Last year, Wesley House and the Salvation Army assisted more than 500 children with supplies and vouchers for clothing and shoes.
