• A sprinkling of tips for healthy eating
• A measurable amount of information on managing diabetes from a certified diabetes educator
• Dozens of people with diabetes and their guests
Combine all the ingredients, stir for two hours, taste and enjoy!
If you have diabetes and want to learn more about managing your condition and cooking healthy, you and a guest are invited to What’s Cookin’ with Diabetes.
What’s Cookin’ with Diabetes is a free, two-hour seminar prepared by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas, K-State Research and Extension, and Prime Therapeutics, LLC. The seminar will be conducted from 6-8 p.m., Oct. 2 at the Memorial Auditorium, Lower Level, 503 N. Pine, Pittsburg, KS.
What’s Cookin’ with Diabetes will blend together equal portions of healthy cooking tips and information sharing. You will receive cupfuls of details on such topics as normal blood sugar ranges, glucometers, physical activity and common myths about diabetes. The seminar will be properly seasoned with door prizes and giveaways, take-home materials, tasty recipes and community resources. Anna Mae Brown and I will present nutrition information and Susan Siglie, RN, MSN, FNP-BC, CDE will provide technical medical information regarding diabetes.
