Two new polls, one from CBS and The New York Times and the other from Fox News, show Barack Obama and Mitt Romney virtually tied in the race for president.
But more than a few dimwits in the political media, liberal and conservative alike, seem not to know how to read polls. Follow along here:
The CBS/NYT poll has Romney at 47 percent and Obama at 46 percent. The difference there is well within the poll’s margin or error. Therefore, the race can said to be tied. But the liberal Talking Points Memo, in a story about this poll, says ...
