We did it, fellow Bruce Tramps! Although the Make-a-Wish Foundation had been trying to secure a meeting between young Spina Bifida patient Carter Bernhard and his idol Bruce Springsteen for some time now, all it took was one story by our colleagues at Wicked Local Mansfield and our subsequent blog post here to get the wheels turning. Late Friday afternoon, just as Channel 5 in Boston was preparing its own follow-up to our reports, Make-a-Wish contacted the family with news that Bruce would be getting together with Carter when he’s in Boston for his show on March 26. (Of course, it could just be a coincidence, but that won’t stop us from taking credit.)
We look forward to hearing how the big meeting goes, but we’re sure it will be a “Sunny Day” for Carter — whom we also hear could be home from the hospital as early as Monday. Thanks to all who weighed in with their thoughts and suggestions, and congrats to you, Carter — we’ll meet you further on up the road!
