Easy, durable, and cheap - what's not to like about laminate flooring? After begging for new flooring in one office I work in, I can attest to the good looks and easy care of laminate flooring. Naturally, you have to prepare the sub-flooring as you would before laying down any type of flooring, but laminate goes together essentially like a simple interlocking puzzle afterwards and can look great for up to 25 years. Laminate floors require TLC, though. A Houston laminate flooring user complained to Ask Heloise in the Houston Chronicle that when she cleans her laminate floor, it gets sticky. The columnist advised her to avoid wax and floor cleaning solutions on her laminate floor. It only needs to be swept or vacuumed and then mopped with a very small amount of water.
