The 2012 Globe and Friend of Pittsburg Community Schools awards were presented during the May 14 Board of Education meeting.
The Globe Award honors one certified and one classified employee for special contributions of time, talent, and effort, especially on behalf of students. Any district employee, student, or resident may submit a nomination for the Globe Award.
Sarah Prince, Westside Elementary School fifth-grade teacher, was selected as the 2012 Certified Staff Award Winner.
Denise Williams, Pittsburg High School technology coordinator, was selected as the 2012 Classified Staff Award Winner.
The Friend of Pittsburg Community Schools Award recognizes individuals who are exceptionally supportive of the efforts of Pittsburg Community Schools, and who are very generous contributors of their time, talent, and material resources.
Kristina Taylor and Dan Williams were both selected to receive the Friend of PCS Award for 2012.
