As a young boy I remember the joy of waking up early on a Saturday morning, grabbing a bowl of cereal and escaping into the euphoric state that only sugar and four straight hours of cartoons can deliver.
It always amazed my mother how the same boy who had to be dragged out of bed on a school-day would, almost miraculously, find the energy to get up early AND fix his own breakfast on a Saturday. (What can I say … I loved the Looney Tunes)
As difficult as it is for this old radio broadcaster to admit, there is something special about video. It’s one of the reasons why Pittsburg State is so proud of its YouTube channel.
More than a simple information channel, Pittsburg State’s YouTube channel is a unique way to experience our campus from anywhere in the world. Whether it’s experiencing move-in day, learning of the incredible accomplishments of our faculty, or getting a behind-the-scenes look at a special event … it’s all at www.youtube.com/pittsburgstate.
The most recent numbers show that the channel’s viewership is continuing to grow. In just 12 months Pitt State’s YouTube site has attracted nearly 126,000 views from 140 different countries.
Those are amazing numbers for a relatively new channel and are a reflection of the university’s growing popularity.
If you love video and the Gorillas, I encourage you to make the official Pitt State YouTube channel your next stop. It’s a great way to get that euphoric feeling without having to get up early.
