There’s more to Memorial Day than sales and barbeques, and we were reminded of that Monday during a very special ceremony at the PSU Veterans Memorial Amphitheater.
Visitors were treated to moving speeches by PSU President Steve Scott, Brig. Gen. Jim Aubuchon and keynote speaker Lt. Col. Robert Brock of the United States Air Force. It was a solemn reminder of the service and sacrifice made by so many for our great nation. Here’s a short video for those unable to attend.
I encourage you to visit the Veterans Memorial Amphitheater this summer. If you can, try to time your visit right around dusk. The beauty and solitude provide the perfect venue to reflect upon the service of those who have come before us.
Pittsburg State University is a comprehensive, four-year university that offers more than 150 undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Located in Pittsburg, Kan., it was established in 1903 and has more than 7,000 students.
