Betty Jean Eagan, 78 of Mindenmines, MO died at 7:15 p.m., Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center in Pittsburg, KS.  
Betty was born August 6, 1931 in Pittsburg, KS to Cleo Leroy and Emma Amelia (Dillow) Butler. She attended schools both in Hiwassie, Ark. and Pittsburg, KS.  On December 16, 1948, in Girard, KS, she married Wilfred Clyde Eagan. He survives of the home. Betty lived in Oklahoma, Oregon and Washington State then in 1969 they returned to Pittsburg, KS then to Peabody, KS and last Mindenmines, MO. Betty worked as a nurses’ aide in many different nursing facilities including the Old Mt. Carmel Hospital in Pittsburg and Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Frontenac. Additional survivors include her son Edward L. Eagan of the home; daughters Darlene Nesson and husband Gene of Mindenmines, MO, Debbie Fogel and husband Jody of Webb City, MO, Patricia Graham of Muskogee, OK, Donna Gallagher and husband Col. Peter of Washington, DC and Jauquita (Jo) Robarts and husband Marvin of Franklin, KS; son-in-law Mark Graham of Mansfield, TX; brother Jack Butler and wife Maxine of Sheldon, MO, 15 Grandchildren and 8 Great-grandchildren.  Betty was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Lorene Bulter and Jauquita (Jo) Cussimanio, brother-in-law Louis Cussimanio and sister-in-law Betty Hudson.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Monday, October 5, 2009 at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Pittsburg with Reverend Dan Moss officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg where the procession to the cemetery will leave the funeral home at 1:45 p.m.  Condolences can be sent to www.bathnaylor.com.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S. Broadway Pittsburg, KS.
