Dear editor:

With Election Day fast approaching and the sales tax increase is on the ballot again. The City Commission didn’t understand that the voters defeated this increase in the primary. I guess they just don’t understand NO.
If the streets had been kept up in the past this wouldn’t even be an issue. The streets didn’t go bad overnight this happened over a long period of time. Money has been spent on fancy trucks and high pay for the good old boys club when this money could have been spent on streets. The sales tax increase in itself isn’t that big a deal it is just the fact the tax money hasn’t been spent wisely in the past. A good example is ads in the paper to vote yes and spots on TV to shop Pittsburg. This past summer the city of Frontenac repaved many of their streets without a tax increase of course they have a big new car dealer within their city limits. Show the City Commission that NO means NO on November 2.
