Dear Editor,
As an animal lover, I was very disappointed that the County Attorney, John Gutierrez, failed to bring to trial Andrew Romanzi who allegedly starved and froze three bulldogs.
Animal cruelty is always outrageous, but particularly when it is done over a period of time whereas the animal dies a slow death. One also might wonder if the dogs were starved and frozen alive? We will never have these answers now that the case has been dropped due to the incompetency of our public servant, Mr. Gutierrez not bringing the case to trial in a timely manner after a thorough investigation by the Sheriff's Department.
Killing innocent animals as a means of retaliation is a sick act. Mr. Romanzi, who is a county employee, continues to keep his job being paid by our tax dollars.
One must wonder how many other major cases have been washed?
