Lakeside celebrates United Way campaign

As a reward to students at Lakeside Elementary for raising the most money for the USD 250 United Way campaign, a storybook character named Miss Viola Swamp visited the school Wednesday morning.
 
Principal Courtney McCartney impersonated the dreaded substitute teacher from the book "Miss Nelson is Missing" by Harry Allard.  Dressed in black with green and white striped stockings, a black wig and scary makeup, Miss Viola Swamp read Miss Nelson is Missing and visited each classroom and greeted students.
