The NAACP's Kansas chapter is demanding that a state legislator apologize publicly for a "RedNeck Rap" video he posted on YouTube.
But Republican state Rep. Bill Otto said Thursday that he won't apologize.
In the video he posted last month, Otto criticizes President Barack Obama while wearing a cap that calls opossum "the other dark meat." The NAACP called it tasteless and racist.
Otto has since revised the video to add an introduction saying the cap referred to his own hillbilly roots, not Obama. Otto posted a sequel last week with some praise for Obama.
But NAACP officials said at a Statehouse news conference that those steps aren't enough.
Otto said he's disappointed in the group's reaction and has no reason to apologize.
