Paul and Karolyn Johnson celebrated their 50th anniversary with family on Sunday, August 30, 2009. A luncheon was held at the home of their son and daughter-in-law Ina Johnson, in Pittsburg, Kansas. Paul and Karolyn were married September 1, 1959 in Girard, Kansas. They started their married life in Herington, Kansas for several years before returning to the Pittsburg area. They have five children, Karen (Dan) Thompson of Weir, Kansas, Duane (Ina) Johnson and Curtis Johnson , of Pittsburg, and Kim (Danny) Watkins and Kelley (Phil) Smith, of Cherokee, Kansas. They also have twelve grandchildren, Daniel (Jenni) Thompson, Misty (Ryan) Webster, Clinton (Danielle) Johnson, Cody and Cooper Johnson, Haley Holt, Jordan and Abbey Johnson, Samantha and Derek Watkins, and Jason and Sarah Smith. They also have five great-grandchildren, Michala, Emily and Lauren Thompson, Lily Webster and Jaeden Beltran.
