Joseph “Jay” and Mauricia “Vitt” O’Brien

Joseph “Jay” O’Brien and Mauricia “Vitt” O’Brien of St. Paul, KS are celebrating their 50th anniversary on Saturday, January 9, 2010.  They were married on January 9, 1960 by Father Nilus at the St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul, KS. Mr. and Mrs. O’Brien have four children: Lisa O’Brien of Clarion, PA, Michael (Melinda) O’Brien of Kansas City, MO, Lynn (David) Greenough of Parsons, KS, and Dwayne (Tari) O’Brien of Pittsburg, KS. They have nine grandchildren: Arlie Dauben Diedrich and Jarett Dauben, Shelby and Landon O’Brien, Sherie, Brandon and Sara Greenough, Abbie and Connor O’Brien. Mr. and Mrs. O’Brien are lifelong residents of St. Paul. Jay is co-owner of O’Brien Ready-Mix Co. Mauricia retired after 26 years from the St. Paul school food service department. Mr. and Mrs. O'Brien recently returned from a Caribbean cruise with their children and grandchildren, celebrating their 50th anniversary. The children invite friends and family to attend 5:30 p.m. mass at St. Francis Catholic Church and a reception and dinner following at the St. Francis Parish Hall. The couple request no gifts.
