Bennie and Colleen Augustin will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on December 27, 2009. They were married on December 27, 1969, at the First Christian Church in Girard, Kansas, with the Rev. Leonard Morrison officiating. The couple’s children are: Patty Brewster, Becky Messenger & her husband David, Peggy McAtee & her husband Richard, Charles Fox & his wife Linda, Lee Fox & his wife Rose, Vicki Small & her husband David, Roger Fox, and Ben Augustin & his wife Sabrina. They also have twenty-three grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Bennie and Colleen have lived most of their married life on the family farm in rural Walnut, Kansas, raising kids, cattle and crops. They have been enthusiastic supporters of 4-H groups, FCE (extension homemakers) activities, veterans groups, cancer support groups and anyone else who needed a helping hand.
The family of Bennie and Colleen would appreciate cards and notes honoring the occasion being sent to the couple’s home at 310 South Ozark, Girard, Kansas.
