Kevin and Lori Markle of Louisburg, and Jim Cowan of Foxtown announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Katie Cowan to Aaron Ashcraft, son of Debbie Ashcraft of Dodge City, and Michael Ashcraft of Pleasanton. Grandparents of the couple are Bucky and Marilyn Cowan of Foxtown and Beverly Ashcraft of Pleasanton, also the late Harry and LaVon Prettyman, and the late George Ashcraft and Clarence F. Davidson. The bride elect will graduate in December 2010 from Auburn University with a degree in Human Resource Management. Aaron graduated from PSU in December 2007 with majors in Justice Studies and Political Science. He will graduate with a Juris Doctorate law degree from Faulkner University in May 2011. A December 26 wedding is being planned in Kansas City, Mo., with a reception to follow January 2 in Fort Scott.
