For a little old lady, Mollie Korth gets around a lot. She buzzes around on a scooter, and doesn’t even look her age, with only a sprinkling of white in her pretty chocolate brown hair.

Mollie is only 15, but that’s pretty elderly for a dog.

“She’s been a healthy dog all her life, and we just have to keep her that way,” said her human, Doyen Korth, Pittsburg.

He has had Mollie since she was a puppy. “I bought her from a woman in Joplin who had registered Chihuahuas for $300, and Mollie was well worth it,” Korth said.

He’s only had his scooter for about a month, and Mollie has been riding for three weeks. Korth fastens her leash to the handle bars to keep her safe. “She’ll just sit right there when I take off,” he said. “The neighbors can’t believe it that she doesn’t jump off.”

Korth said that Mollie has always been an adventurous sort.

“She loves to float in the water in an inner tube, too,” he said. “I used to deliver The Pittsburg Morning Sun, and she’d ride along with me in the truck every morning.”
