Pittsburg Family YMCA is now accepting enrollments for its summer Adventure Camp, according to Jack Bache, YMCA executive director.
The program, which will begin in May, is for children aged 6 to 12. It will be offered from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday on a full-day or half-day basis. Camp will be under the direction of Peggy Kimmel, YMCA program director.
Each day will feature a range of summer activities geared to strengthen values, build self-esteem and have fun. Included will be crafts, art, field trips, swimming, exercise, sports, history studies, movies and other activities.
“This program fulfills a definite need in our community for children of working parents, in addition to just being a fun summer activity,” Bache said.
There will be a limit to the number of children that may be taken each day, so interested persons should sign up as soon as possible by calling the YMCA at 231-1100. A $25 non-refundable deposit is required, which will include a camp T-shirt.
