The Floyd B. Lyerla family gathered Aug. 16-23 for a reunion and vacation in Pittsburg.
It had been more than 10 years since the family had all been together for an official family photo. Since that time the family has grown from nine to 15 members and has become a four-generation family.
To make this happen, Allen and Miranda Perkins and their daughter, Catelynn, flew from Billings, Mont., and Bryan and Sharon Perkins and daughters Kaylee and Alyssa drove from Florence, Ky. Grandparents Richard and Kellye Perkins drove their RV from Glendale, Ariz., to Pittsburg, along with their three dogs Poco, Foxy and Gunner. Son Brett and Kristi Perkins, along with sons Brandon and Connor, drove in from Carl Junction, Mo.
The family had a week’s vacation together to visit and get reacquainted. Highlights of the week included jet-skiing at Farlington Lake; birthday celebrations for Kaylee  Perkins, 2, Alyssa Perkins, 1, and Miranda Perkins; and the 58th wedding anniversary celebration for great-grandparents Floyd and Donna Lyerla. An extended party was held for a few family members and friends at Wheat State Pizza.
“We are thankful that everyone returned to their respective homes safely,” Lyerla said.
