IQ Academy Kansas, an online program of Manhattan-Ogden USD 383, will host an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Lamplighter Inn and Suites.
Teachers and students from iQ Academy will host the event, allowing parents and prospective students to ask questions and learn more about the virtual school. Parents of enrolled students will also be on hand. There will be a demonstration of how the school operates and what a virtual classroom looks like.
The program offers a tuition-free virtual middle and high school that serves students in seventh through 12th grade. Graduates earn a high school diploma from iQ Academy Kansas and Manhattan-Ogden USD 383 which is accepted at colleges and technical schools throughout the United States.
KC Distance Learning partners with public school districts to operate iQ Academies as an alternative to traditional classroom-based learning.
