Art exhibit opens
A new exhibit, “Life Industries,” printmaking and sculpture by Andrew Au, will open in the Harry Krug Gallery, Porter Hall, Pittsburg State University.
The exhibit will close March 7, and the artist will present a public lecture about his work at 4 p.m. that day in room 103, Porter Hall.
Au is an art professor at the Miami University-Middletown in Middletown, Ohio.
His work includes works on paper, printmaking and sculptures. “Life Industries” explores product design and manufactured objects seen as living organisms.His work includes gouache paintings, silk screen prints and sculptural reproductions to create the feeling of a natural history display. The artist’s work has been exhibited across the United States and internationally.
The Harry Krug Gallery is open free to the public from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Friday. Anyone needing additional information may contact S. Portico Bowman, gallery director, at 620-235-4305.
Friday Study Club
Friday Study Club will meet at noon at the Crestwood Country Club. Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m.
The program will be presented by Joanna Rhodes, Live Well Crawford County coordinator.
Senior Citizens Club
Pittsburg Senior Citizens Club will meet at 1 p.m. for a business session and bingo.
Club members will be able to enjoy America’s favorite snack, popcorn, in many different flavors, or may bring their own favorite kind.

Legion bingo
Pittsburg American Legion Post 64 will sponsor bingo, open to the public, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the post home, 2815 N. Joplin. Doors will open at 5 p.m.
Early bird game starts at 6:20 p.m. This is a non-smoking event.
