AARP board
Board of directors and committee chairmen of Crawford County AARP Chapter 646 will meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Homer Cole Community Center to plan August programs and conduct other business.

Pittsburg Farmers’ Market will open at noon at Second and Broadway. Theme for 2008 is “Buy Fresh, Buy Local.”
Frontenac Rotary
Frontenac Rotary will meet at noon. James AuBuchon will present the program on the Highway 69 project.
Greeter will be Patrick Mendicki, and Pattie Jones will serve as sergeant at arms. Cindy Minelli will be Rotarian of the day.

United Commercial Travelers of America, a fraternal benefit society, will have a monthly meeting at 4 p .m. at the Mall Deli.
Alpha Kappa Chapter
Alpha Kappa Chapter, Phi Tau Omega sorority, will have a business session and hamburger stand cleaning at 6:30 p.m. at the Arma City Park.
Members should bring their backpacks to the meeting. Nancy Dungan and Connie Morris will be co-hostesses. Members unable to attend should contact one of them.

Support Our Soldiers, a support group for families of local service members serving the nation at home or abroad, will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at 511 E. 21st.

Albert M. Wheeler Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1158 will have a monthly meeting at 7 p.m. at the post home, 3204 N. Michigan.
Legion bingo
Pittsburg American Legion Post No. 64 will host bingo night, open to the public, at 6:30 p.m. The canteen will be open.
