Azrim Temple No. 81, Daughters of the Nile, will have its annual luncheon and bake sale Saturday at Mirza Shrine.
The fundraising event will be open to the public. A portion of the proceeds will go toward purchase of prostheses, braces and orthopedic supplies for children treated at Shrine Hospitals.
Theme will be “Comfort and Quilts,” with a lunch and learn presented by guest speaker Susan Stewart, an award-winning quilter, author and heirloom designer.
Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. to allow those attending time to shop for baked goods donated by Azrim and to participate in a Chinese auction for baskets of goodies. A ukulele donated by Kutz Music will also be auctioned off.
Lunch, featuring comfort foods such as beef stew and homemade pie, will begin at noon. The food will be prepared by members of the Crawford/Cherokee Nile Club and served by Mirza nobles.
During the afternoon a diamond bracelet, temple queen Diana Mason’s fundraising project for the year, will be raffled off. Tickets for the drawing can be purchased at the luncheon. Door prizes will also be drawn.
Tickets are $10. Reservations may be made by calling Bonnie McAdam, 620-237-4362, or Mary Lou Williams, 231-1826.
