Kiwanis Club
Pittsburg Kiwanis Club will meet at noon in dePaul Hall, Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center.
Larry Spahn will discuss “Abandoned Mine Emergencies and the Railroad Club.” Forrest Coltharp will be the cashier. Jaime Vanderbeck will serve as greeter, and the invocation will be given by Kathryn George.
Frontenac bingo
Frontenac American Legion will sponsor bingo, open to the public, every Thursday at the Frontenac Senior Citizens Center.
Doors will open at 5 p.m., and play starts at 6:30 p.m. A total of 16 games are played, and the evening usually ends about 8:30 p.m.

Phi Kappa Chapter, Phi Tau Omega sorority, will have a monthly business session at 7 p.m. at the Lamplighter Inn. Hostesses will be Sue Boehne and Cheryle Wilson.
Artist reception
A public artists reception with refreshments and music will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Beverly Corcoran Gallery, Pittsburg Memorial Auditorium.
Linda Jarvis Teeter, Carl Junction, Mo., is showing “Galactic Wars,” a series of photographs that trace the story of a spiritual voyage to find a new home for humanity to replace the earth, damaged by global warming, chemical use and war.
Work by ceramic artist Al Letner is in the gallery display cases.
