Girard Farmers Market
GIRARD — Girard Farmers Market Co-op Event, sponsored by Craw-Kan, Heartland REC, Producer’s Co-op and the Girard Farm Bureau, will be held from 7:30 a.m. until sold out on the Girard city square.
Many home-grown vegetables, plants and handcrafted items will be available. There will also be free entertainment, including a giant slide and bounce castle for the children.

Farmers Market
Pittsburg Farmers Market will be held from 7:30 a.m. until sold out at Second and Broadway.
Local vendors will be selling local fruits, vegetables, beef, pork, chicken, baked goods, eggs, garden plants, bedding plants, jams and jellies, crafts and food.

VFW Auxiliary
Albert M. Wheeler Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 1158 will meet at 9:30 a.m. at the post home, 3204 N. Michigan.
New officers are as follows: Effie Toney, president; Sherri  Anderson, senior vice president; Deta Toney, junior vice president; Beverly Hunsaker, secretary; Kristin Talent, treasurer; Angeline Flechler, conductress; Linda Hill, chaplain; Beverly Hunsaker, historian; Deta Toney, three-year trustee; Sherri Anderson, two-year trustee; and Linda Hill, one-year trustee.

Scrabble Club
Scrabble Club NASPA 613 will meet from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Pittsburg Public Library. Players of all skill levels may attend.

SEHS 1999 reunion
CHEROKEE — Southeast High School class of 1999 will have a reunion, starting with a family picnic from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lincoln Park Shelter No. 1. Dinner will be at 6 .m. at the Franklin Community Center and Heritage Museum.

Food Share America
Food Share America orders for the July distribution will be taken from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the west gym door of the First Church of the Nazarene.
Food Share America is a non-profit food purchasing program that offers savings because volunteers help sort, package and distribute food which is purchased in bulk. Anyone needing additional information may call 620-347-8704.

Brush dumping
City of Pittsburg will offer a place for Pittsburg residents to take their brush and limbs from 8 a.m. to noon on the second Saturday of each month, starting July 11.
The dumping site is located 1.5 miles east of Rouse on Quincy (north side of Quincy). This is for limbs and brush only, and those bringing brush and limbs will be required to have an ID proving they live within  Pittsburg city limits.

Church giveaway
Christ’s Community Church, 900 E. Fourth, will have a free giveaway, starting at 7 a.m.
Clothing, furniture, toys and other items will be available on a first come, first served basis. Anyone needing additional information may call 235-1996.

Spaghetti dinner
ARMA — Arma American Legion Post 182 will serve a spaghetti dinner from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Menu will feature spaghetti, meatballs, garlic toast and tossed salad. Carry-outs will be available.
Cost will be at $6 donation.
