Alzheimer’s caregivers
A breakfast club for Alzheimer’s caregivers will meet at 9 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church.

The club offers an opportunity for caregivers to talk with those who share similar issues while having a free breakfast. Anyone may attend who serves as a caregiver to a person with Alzheimer’s or a similar dementia.

Anyone wishing to register  or needing additional information may contact the Alzheimer’s Association’s Southeast Kansas Regional Office in Parsons at 620-421-6550, ext. 1794.

Cherokee Senior Citizens
CHEROKEE — Cherokee Senior Citizens will meet at 11:30 a.m. at the Cherokee Community Building. Angels Home Health Care staff will be there to give wellness checks to those who want them.

A lunch of fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy will be served at noon. Those who wish may bring a side dish or dessert.

Kiwanis Club
Pittsburg Kiwanis Club will meet at noon in dePaul Hall, Via Christi Hospital. Michael Hayslip, Via Christi Hospital public relations director, will give an update on the surgical center and other plans for the hospital.

Larry Weaver will be greeter and Peggy Snyder will serve as cashier. Sharon Barone will give the invocation.

Community Corrections
Advisory Board

Eleventh Judicial District Community Corrections Advisory Board will meet at noon at the Cherokee County Courthouse, Columbus.

Low Vision Support Group
Pittsburg Low Vision Support Group meeting, scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. at Via Christi Village, has been canceled because of extreme heat.

Franklin Farmers Market
FRANKLIN — Franklin Farmers Market will be held from 4 p.m. until sold out at the Franklin Community Park, Business  69 Highway, six miles north of Pittsburg.

Items planned to be available include watermelons, honeydew melons, cantaloupe, Sweet Candy onions, tomatoes, cabbage, other fresh fruits and vegetables, blackberries, eggs, plants, canned vegetables, a variety of home-baked goods such as cinnamon rolls, pies, cookies and breads and several kinds of jellies and jams.

Hand-crafted items may include kitchen towels and rags, baby hats and blankets, crocheted items, candles and soaps.

Occasionally some items may not be available because of weather conditions or other circumstances.

Zumba class
Jessica Wakeman will offer a zumba class from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Homer Cole Community Center, 3003 N. Joplin.

There will be a $5 fee for the class. Anyone needing additional information may call the center at 231-9773.

TOPS KS 0884
TOPS KS 0884 meets every Thursday at Knights of Columbus Towers, 700 N. Pine.

Weigh-in will begin at 9 a.m., with the business session following at 9:30 a.m.

Frontenac bingo
Frontenac American Legion Post 43 will sponsor bingo from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Frontenac Senior Citizens Center. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
