Girard library party
GIRARD — Girard Public Library will have a fundraising party from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Vendors will include Celebrating Home, Jewels by Park Lane, Tupperware, Scentsy, At-Tutu-Des (Connie Gibbs), crafts by Gena Allen, specialty wooden blocks by Kim Geier and Mary Kay. The vendors will have products on hand as well as catalogs.
The event will be open to the community, with those attending able to come and go. There will be drawings for a door prizes. Proceeds will go to the Teen Advisory Group which provides money for teen parties, crafts, Wii games and more for teens.
Sunflower Kiwanis
Sunflower Kiwanis Club will meet at 6:45 a.m. in dePaul Hall, Via Christi Hospital.
Program chairman Phil Carter has invited Dr. Brian Biermann, Pittsburg USD 250 assistant superintendent, to give an update on Pittsburg public schools.
Rotary Club
Pittsburg Rotary Club will meet at noon in dePaul Hall, Via Christi Hospital. Kyle Bockover will present the program on the Southeast Kansas Soccer Academy.
Shawn Naccarato will give the invocation, and Craig Fuchs will be song leader. Johnna Schremmer will have introductions, and Michael Hayslip will serve as sergeant at arms.
Companions in Grief
Companions in Grief will meet from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the Pittsburg Public Library seminar room.

Chapter AQ, PEO, will meet at 12:30 p.m. at the home of Linda Walker with Kristi Bitner, Rita Nelson and Diane Bicknell serving as co-hostesses. Krista Smith and Joan Hobbs will provide the program on teen pregnancy.
Chapter CP, PEO
Chapter CP, PEO, will meet at 10 a.m. at the home of Linda Coltrane. Assisting as hostesses will be Deanna Fields and Debra O’Doherty.
O’Doherty will present a program titled “Touching Lives with Flowers.” A luncheon will follow.
Chapter CJ, PEO
Chapter CJ, PEO, will meet at 7 p.m. at 1916 Messenger Circle with Peggy Snyder as hostess. Co-hostesses will be Christa Weber, Julie Dainty and Beverly Tustin.
Snyder will present the program on “Touching Women from Far Away Places.”
Senior dance
The bi-weekly senior dance will be held at 7 p.m. at the Homer Cole Community Center, 3003 N. Joplin. There is a $1 fee. Those attending are asked to bring finger foods or potluck, the center will provide coffee and punch. For more information, call 231-9773.

Scottish rite
FORT SCOTT — Coffee and doughnuts will be served at 8 a.m. every Tuesday at the Scottish Rite Center, 110 S. Main, Fort Scott.
There will be no set agenda or predetermined topic, simply conversation among friends.
Everyone is welcome to attend, and need not be Scottish Rite members or Masons. Men attending are welcome to bring their wives or friends.
ARMA TOPS
ARMA — The ARMA TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter meets at 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays.
