South Kansas and Oklahoma Railroad will sponsor its fourth annual Relay for Life train ride April 10 to benefit the American Cancer Society.
The train will depart at 1 p.m. from the intersection of Elm and Monroe, and passengers are asked to arrive 30 minutes in advance for the hour-long ride.
The three 1950s era air-conditioned coach cars seat approximately 250 passengers. Due to the historic nature of the cars, they are not handicapped accessible and restroom facilities are limited.
Car attendants are provided by the Heart of the Heartlands Rail Preservation Society.
Tickets are $5 per person, and may be purchased in advance at the Watco Companies Pittsburg office, 315 W. Third. Any remaining tickets may be purchased the day of the ride, but advance purchase is recommended to guarantee seating.
Anyone needing additional information about the Relay for Life train ride may contact Charlene Huskey at 231-2230 or chuskey@watcocompanies.com.
