Autumn Leaves Senior Citizens met Sept. 8 with nine present for dinner, the business session and bingo. A new carpet was laid after Jack Payne and Jerry Coonrod removed the old carpet that was soaked from a water leak in the kitchen. Jack Payne gave the blessing, and Lilly Coonrod, president, conducted the business meeting, opening with the flag pledge and Lord’s Prayer. Members were sorry to learn that Girard Medical Center has no plans to send someone to take blood pressure checks at Autumn Leaves meetings as it did in the past, but thanked the hospital for its past services. Bingo was played. Mrs. Coonrod sold tickets for the new quilt to raise money for the Cato School building. Others present at the meeting were Helen Sisney, Mary Lee Payne, Gary Peterson, Carole Garrison and Mary V. Shead, secretary. Due to circumstances, the October meeting has been rescheduled for Oct. 20.
