Chili feed
Southeast Kansas Humane Society will host its 34th annual chili bowl dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pittsburg Memorial Auditorium.
Chili, veggies, pie and beverages will be served, with carry-outs available. A country store will feature handmade goods and foods. Entertainment will be provided by Jim Wilson.
Friends and members of the society are encouraged to bake a pie or cake for the event. These may be brought to the auditorium before the start of the feed.
Tickets are $6 per person. They may be purchased from Humane Society members or at the door. All proceeds will go for the care and maintenance of homeless animals at the society’s shelter.
Legion dance
Pittsburg American Legion Post 64 will host a dance, open to the public, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the post home, 2815 N. Joplin.
Lounge will open at 1 p.m.
Franklin dance canceled
FRANKLIN — Franklin valentine dinner and dance has been canceled.
Monday, February 8
Treble Clef Club
Treble Clef Club will meet at 1 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church.
The program, “Fiddling Around with Folk Music,” will feature traditional tunes such as “Irish Washerwoman,” “Hoedown,” “Milkcow Blues,” “Ragtime Annie,” “Redwing” and “Summertime.”
Treble Clef is associated with the National Association of Music Clubs and the Kansas Federation of Music Clubs.
Frontenac auxiliary
Frontenac American Legion Auxiliary Unit 43 will meet at 7 p.m. at the post home. Patty Cussimanio, president, will preside. Hostesses will be Lucille Simon and Ruth Shock.
Members who have not paid their 2010 dues may bring them to the meeting or send them to Kristie Knaup, 516 E. McKay, Frontenac.
Arma auxiliary
ARMA — American Legion Auxiliary No. 182 will have a monthly meeting at 76 p.m. at the legion hall with Steffie Peternell conducting the session. Hostesses will be Michelle and Steffie Peternell.
In case of inclement weather the meeting will be canceled.
Frontenac card games
Card games will be played from 1 to 4 p.m. every Monday except holidays at the Frontenac Senior Citizens Building. Primary game is pinochle, but any card game is welcome, and those who wish may bring their own bridge foursome.

TOPS No. 599 (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meets every Monday at College Heights United Methodist Church.
Weigh-in will be from 5:30 to 6:20 p.m., followed by a business session. Anyone needing additional information may call 231-7149.
