A high tunnel workshop will be held at the farm of Melvin and Emma Hershberger at 585 NW 45th Lane, near Lamar on Monday from 9 to noon.
Workshop topics include Introduction to High Tunnels, the EQUIP program for High Tunnels, Supplemental Heat and a backpack sprayer demonstration. The Hershbergers will discuss their high tunnel operation and lead tours.
The workshop is sponsored by the University of Missouri Extension and the Webb City Farmers Market with funding from the USDA Specialty Crops Block grant. There is no charge for the workshop. Hmong translation will be provided. For more information, contact Eileen Nichols at 417 673-5866.
To get to the Hershberger farm take V highway west of 71 (turn at the detour sign), turn left (south) on 45th Lane, go approximately 1.2 miles, the farm is on right (west). The program is open to anyone interested in high tunnel production.
