Meals on Wheels volunteer drivers delivered a total of 985 meals to elderly and disabled persons in Pittsburg and Opolis during January.
Meals are prepared by the Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center Dietary Department. Special diets are available upon request.
Those delivering meals weekly were Bill and Dorothy Baker, Jean Barber, Martha Baxter, Bridges Community Care, Bill Brooks, Bob Buchanan, Ken and Jean Burbach, Leroy Davidson, Elwyn and Karen Davis, Kathy Ebbs, John and Pat Flanders, Bea Frevele, Tom Hammack, Terri Huelat, Connie and Jim Huddleston, Helen Kriegsman, John and Bea Martel, Joan Miller, Lottie Mocnick, Matt O’Malley, Betty Pentola, Jin and Tony Perez, Pitsco Cares Team, Pittsburg Community Middle School, Mary Reed, Amanda Sheets, Jean and Tony Simoncic, Alice Thomas, University Bank and Larry Vanderhoofven.
Part-time volunteers filling in for regular drivers were Bob and Donna Backes, Bryant Bay, Joe Beauchamp, Bridges Community Care, CLASS LTD Activities Program, Leroy Davidson, Elwyn Davis, Jim Huddleston, Guy Owings, Patty Nichols, Angela Radell, Treena Saia and Louie Stroup.
Substitute drivers are needed to fill in for regular drivers. Volunteers finish delivery routes in less than 90 minutes. Anyone wishing to volunteer or place someone on the meal program may call the Meals on Wheels office at 231-4880.
