Tuesday, Feb. 9

Sunflower Kiwanis

Sunflower Kiwanis Club will meet for breakfast at 6:45 a.m. in dePaul Hall, Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center.

A short business session will be conducted by Roger Wood, president. A report will be given on progress of ad sales for the annual spaghetti dinner.

Connie McCune, club program chairman for the day, will introduce Wanda Mercer, Mt. Carmel director of volunteers. Her topic will be “Volunteering for the Health of It.”

Rotary Club

Pittsburg Rotary Club will meet at noon in dePaul Hall, Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center. Program will be presented by Tim Beck, Pittsburg State University head football coach.

Mike Hart will give the invocation, and Paul Ebbert will serve as song leader. John Clark will have introductions, and Becky May will be sergeant at arms.

Chapter IO, PEO

Chapter IO, PEO, will meet at 9:30 a.m. at 110 Huntington Circle with Kristina Taylor, Nikke Foster and Kelli Farha as hostesses.

Dr. J.D. Taylor will present the program on “Understanding Hospice Services.”

Chapter CP, PEO
Chapter CP, PEO, will meet at 9:30 a.m. in the home of Patti Dearth. Co-hostesses will be Kristen Maceli and Laura Lea.

Program, titled “A Woamn’s Living Legacy,” will be given by Laura Lea.

Vilmer Post
Betty Lou Vilmer American Legion Post 394 will meet at 2 p.m. at the post home.

Matters to be discussed will include a children-youth project that the post will carry out in conjunction with some of the local agencies that deal with small children.

Meeting will be canceled in case of inclement weather. Members will be called if this occurs.

Companions in Grief
Companions in Grief, monthly support group, will meet from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Pittsburg Public Library.

The group is hosted by Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, a not-for-profit agency serving Crawford County and 13 other counties in southeast Kansas. Wayne Mason, chaplain for Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, will be the facilitator.

Anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one may attend. Those needing additional information may call 1-866-584-5498.

Pittsburg Lions Club will have a business session at 6:30 p.m. in the Sheridan Room at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center. Amanda Sheets, president, will preside.

Overeaters Anonymous
Overeaters Anonymous will meet at 6 p.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.

Arma bingo
ARMA — Arma American Legion Post 182 will sponsor bingo, open to the public, at the post home.

Tristatesmen Chorus
JOPLIN, Mo. — Tristatesmen Barbershop Chorus welcomes men to join in an old fashioned barbershop sing at 7 p.m. every Tuesday at the First Community Church, 15th and Murphy Blvd., Joplin, Mo.

Anyone wishing additional information may call Tom Wishart, 232-6159.

Benjamin A. Fuller American Legion Auxiliary No. 64 will have a regular meeting at 6 p.m. at the post home, 2815 N. Joplin. Elsie Mason, president, will preside.
