Alzheimer’s caregivers
A breakfast club for Alzheimer’s caregivers will meet at 9 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church.
The club offers an opportunity for caregivers to talk with others who share similar issues while having a free breakfast. Anyone may attend who serves as a caregiver to an individual with Alzheimer’s or a similar dementia.
Anyone wishing to register or needing additional information may call the Alzheimer’s Association Southeast Kansas Regional Office in Parsons at 620-421-6550, ext. 1794.
Kiwanis Club
Pittsburg Kiwanis Club will meet at noon in dePaul Hall, Via Christi Hospital. Tony Allen of Pitsco will present the program.
Leann Webb will serve as cashier. Peggy Snyder will be greeter and also give the invocation.
Cherokee Senior Citizens
CHEROKEE — Cherokee Senior Citizens will meet at 11:30 a.m. Speaker will be Mary Ann Anderson of Golden Living Nursing Home.
A lunch of ham and beans will be served at noon. Those attending should bring a side dish or dessert. All persons 50 and older may attend. Yearly dues are $3.
UMWA
Local 14, District 12, United Mine Workers of America, will meet at 1 p.m. at the Homer Cole Community Center, 3003 N. Joplin. All UMWA members may attend.
Weir blood drive
WEIR — American Red Cross will conduct a community blood drive from 2:15 to 5:30 p.m. at the Weir Senior Citizens Building, Lincoln and Forest. Appointments may be made by calling 1-800-733-2767 or visiting redcrossblood.org.
Foot clinic
Via Christi Home Health Care will offer a free foot care clinic from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Homer Cole Community Center, 3003 N. Joplin.
Services offered include toe nail trimming and foot massage. Anyone needing additional information may call the center at 231-9773.
Senior exercise
Homer Cole Community Center, 3003 N. Joplin, will offer a free senior exercise class at 8:30 a.m.
Sponsored by Girard Medical Center, the session offers simple movements and stretching to help with upper and lower body strength, cardiovascular and overall health. Anyone needing additional information may call the center at 231-9773.

TOPS KS 0884 meets every Thursday at Knights of Columbus Towers, 700 N. Pine.
Weigh-in will begin at 9 a.m., with the business session following at 9:30 a.m.

Frontenac American Legion Post 43 will sponsor bingo from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Frontenac Senior Citizens Center. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

Mission of TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is to support members as they take off and keep off pounds sensibly.
