Incoming University of Kansas students and their parents from Cherokee, Crawford, Labette, Neosho, Montgomery and Wilson Counties will be welcomed into the KU family at the Jayhawk Generations Welcome Picnic at 4 p.m. July 12 in Pittsburg.
The KU Alumni Association and its Tri-State Chapter will greet the next generation of Jayhawks at Lincoln Center. Area alumni, students interested in learning more about KU and parents may attend the event without charge. Each new Jayhawk will receive a free T-shirt.
Henry Menghini, Pittsburg, Tri-State Chapter president, is coordinating the event, along with Alumni Association representatives Joy Maxwell, assistant director, and Jennifer Sanner, senior vice president of communications.
