Church Women United will observe World Community Day with a program at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 6 at the First Christian Church.
First observed in 1939, World Community Day is an occasion for Christian women to pray and work for lasting peace. It focuses on justice and peace in the global society.
Theme this year is “Piecing Earth Together,” and focuses on the environment, and the need to work together to be good stewards of the gifts of the earth. An action guide provides ways to support the earth and reduce carbon footprints.
The program will be open free to the entire community. Refreshments will be served.
