Franklin Movie Day

FRANKLIN — The first “Franklin Movie Day” will be held at 1 p.m. at the Franklin Community Center and Heritage Museum. This will be a regular weekly feature.

First film will be “What About Bob?” starring Bill Murray and Richard Dreyfuss. The comedy tells the story of Bob Wiley, a walking encyclopedia of psychological troubles, who seeks help from an egotistical psychiatrist. The psychiatrist takes off for a quiet family vacation, but Bob follows, quickly endearing himself to the doctor’s family but slowing driving the doctor completely mad.

Tristatesmen Chorus
JOPLIN, Mo. — Tristatesmen Barbershop Chorus welcomes men to join in an old fashioned barbershop sing at 7 p.m. every Tuesday at the First Community Church, 15th and Murphy Blvd., Joplin, Mo.

Anyone wishing additional information may call Tom Wishart, 232-6159.

Arma bingo

ARMA — Arma American Legion Post 182 will sponsor bingo, open to the public, at the post home.

Elks bingo
Elks Lodge No. 412 will host bingo at 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday.

Overeaters Anonymous
Overeaters Anonymous will meet at 6 p.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.

New Beginnings
New Beginnings, a social fellowship and dinner for widows, will meet at 11 a.m. at Otto’s. Ann Pugh is chairman.

All widows, new and old, may attend.

Sunflower Kiwanis
Sunflower Kiwanis Club will meet for breakfast at 6:45 a.m. in dePaul Hall, Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center. George Graham, president, will open the meeting by reading the Kiwanis Defining Statement.

John and Bea Martel will report on the Kiwanis National Convention, held recently in Nashville, Tenn. Paul Zagorski will lead the club in sharing ideas and seeking insights for planning the coming year.

Monthly board meeting has been postponed until July 14.
