Cockerill/Foxtown-Union hosting reunion at Franklin Community Center

Cockerill/Foxtown-Union Schools Association will meet July 19 in the Franklin Community Center-Heritage Museum.

This event, held every two years, will be open to all individuals who attended Cockerill High School, Cockerill Elementary School or Foxtown-Union Elementary School, their relatives and guests, former staff of these schools and their relatives and guests.

Tentative schedule calls for registration and social hour at 4 p.m., welcome and business session at 5:30 p.m., a banquet at 6 p.m., a program with “Hall of Praise” induction at 7 p.m. and, from 8 to 10 p.m., a dance with music provided by the John Zibert Band. A continental breakfast will be available at 9:45 p.m.

Nominations by letter are currently being accepted  for the Hall of Praise. Criteria for selection may include recognition for successes as a student at Cockerill School or Elementary School or Foxtown-Union Elementary School; recognition for service to these school districts as a teacher, coach, administrator or other support person; recognition as a special contributor; recognition as a special contributor in some way which promoted the success of individuals and the school district; exceptional participation as an active participant in association business over the years; recognition by individuals for lifetime/career successes at the local, county, state or national level which has brought and/or continues to bring  prestige and honor to Cockerill/Foxtown-Union Schools and Cockerill/Foxtown and the surrounding area; and special exhibitions of loyalty to Cockerill/Foxtown-Union Schools by former students or staff during their lifetime.
