Two special programs are planned Wednesday at the Arma City Library. Both will be open free to the public.
Theme of the summer children’s reading program is “Catch the Reading Bug,” and in keeping with this, the library will host an exhibit of insects from the Sedgwick County Zoo at 10:30 a.m.
Included will be Madagascar hissing cockroaches and giant African millipedes. Zoo staff will give a 30 to 45-minute program on insets and their habitats.
This program will be geared toward children from pre-school age through fifth grade. However, all ages are welcome.
Iola musician Randy Bevard will perform at 4:30 p.m. as part of its young adult summer reading program, “Metamorphosis @ Your Library.”
Bevard has taught guitar for eight years, and will talk about how popular music has changed over the last 50 years. He will perform several songs, give guitar tips and answer questions.
This program will be geared for young adults aged 12 through 16, but all ages are welcome.
Anyone needing additional information may call the library at 620-347-4811.
