AARP board
Crawford County AARP Chapter 646 board of directors and committee chairmen will meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Homer Cole Community Center to plan November programs and conduct other business.
Martha Roberts, president, will be in charge.
Azrim sewing day
Azrim Temple No. 81, Daughters of the Nile, will meet at 10 a.m. at Mirza Shrine to sew for patients in Shrine hospitals.
Lunch will be served at noon, courtesy of the quilters/sewers, with Kay Lewis as chairman.
Frontenac Rotary
Frontenac Rotary Club will meet at noon in the Bosco Center, located in the basement of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Frontenac.
Rotarian of the day will be Carl Ulepich. Program will be presented by Bob Grant. Greeter will be Patrick Mendicki, and fulfilling duties as sergeant at arms will be A.J. Menghini.
Rotary will offer a lunch featuring barbecued country style ribs, scalloped potatoes, salad and beverage for $7.
‘Soup’s On’
FRANKLIN — “Soup’s On” will resume at the Franklin Community Center and Heritage Museum. Serving will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until sold out.
Chicken noodle soup will be $3 for a pint/bowl or $5 per quart. Brownies will be available for 50 cents. Soft drinks and bottled water will be $1, and coffee or tea will be 50 cents.
Carry-outs may be picked up between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Orders for carry-out may be placed by calling 620-347-4220.
A different soup will be featured each week, and those wishing menu information may call 620-347-4220. All proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward programs that benefit all of southeast Kansas.

Council 077, United Commercial Travelers of America, a fraternal benefit society, will have a monthly meeting at 4 p.m. at the Mall Deli.
Alpha Kappa Chapter
ARMA — Alpha Kappa Chapter, Phi Tau Omega sorority, will have a monthly business meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Teresa Nesbitt. Steffie Peternell will be co-hostess.
Members should bring their shoe box for Operation Bless the Children. The sorority is collecting coupons for the troops.
