PSU choir concert
Choirs of Pittsburg State University will present their annual fall concert at 7:30 p.m. in McCray Recital Hall. It will be open free to the entire community.
The University Choir, PSU Chorale, PSU Women’s Choir and Jazz Choir will perform under the direction of Susan Marchant. Pianists Jan Hastings and Rebecca Cutler will serve as accompanists for the ensembles.
The Chorale will collaborate with PSU music faculty members Joanne Britz and John Ross in the world premiere of Ross’ new composition “Solitary Bird” for SATB choir,  clarinet and handbell.
Percussionist Salvador Prado will assist in the spiritual “Sister Mary,” and an ensemble of PSU percussion students will join the University Choir and Women’s Choir in the concert finale, “Kolenna Sawa.”

Drive-through flu clinic
Crawford County Health Department will have a drive-through flu clinic from  8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot of the Crawford County Mental Health Building, 30th St. and Michigan.

Gorilla Toastmasters
Names and Numbers will host Gorilla Toastmasters at 7 a.m. The group, open to the public, is designed to help members improve their public speaking skills.

Church Women United
Church Women United will observe World Community Day at 9:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church.  Program theme will be “God’s Wisdom Sets us Free.” Refreshments will be served.

‘Talking Heads’
“Talking Heads,” a weekly discussion group using the Teaching Company’s videotaped lecture series, will meet at the Pittsburg Public Library.
Three different series are offered, beginning with “The Brain” at 9:05 a.m., followed by “History of the U.S.” at 10 a.m. and “Art Through the Ages” at 11 a.m. Each session consists of a 30-minute lecture followed by a brief discussion by participants.
Sessions are open free to the public. Those who wish may attend any or all of them.

Friday Study Club
Friday Study Club will have a 12:30 p.m. luncheon meeting at the Crestwood Country Club. Hostesses will be Dee Higgins, Lois Belm and Carolyn Brooker.
Pat Waltrip will present the program titled “Impressions of New Orleans.”

Senior Citizens Club
Pittsburg Senior Citizens Club will meet at 1:30 p.m. in Lincoln Center to share pictures and stories to coincide with Veterans Day. Members will also play bingo.
Anyone needing additional information about the club may call the Pittsburg Parks and Recreation Department office at 231-8310.

Legion bingo
Pittsburg American Legion Post 64 will host bingo night, open to the public, at 6:30 p.m. at the post home, 2815 N. Joplin.
Canteen will be open, and will feature soup, chili and 25-cent hot dogs.

Native American movie
“Smoke Signals,” the first movie to be written and directed by Native Americans, will be shown at 7 p.m. in the U-Club Theater, Overman Student Center, Pittsburg State University.

Joplin dance
JOPLIN — Joplin Shrine Club will sponsor a dance from 7 to 10 p.m. at 1040 S. Joplin. Music will be provided by the Bob Russell Band. Doors will open at 5 p.m., and food will be available.
The dance will be open to the public. Admission will be $4.

Holly Reed Trio
Hastings Hardback Coffee Cafe will host a performance by the Holly Reed Trio from 6 to 8 p.m. It will be open to all.
