PITTSBURG —

AARP 646

Southeast Crawford County AARP  Chapter 646 will meet at the Homer Cole Community Center for a program presented by Ann Pugh and Mattye Foxx, members of the recreation and social committee, titled “Count Your Blessings.” It will raise funds for the chapter’s community work.

Chapter business will be conducted after the program by Martha Roberts, president.

Members are asked to bring donations for use by Wesley House in buying pre-school items for Crawford County children from low-income families. July will be the final month for this project.

AARP meetings are always open to the public. All AARP 646 members must also be members of AARP National.

Frontenac Rotary
Frontenac Rotary Club will meet at noon in the Bosco Center, located in the basement of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Frontenac. Anyone wishing to eat should bring a sack lunch.

Speaker will be Dr. Dale Slagle, new Frontenac USD 249 superintendent of schools. Greeter will be April Wilkes, and fulfilling duties as sergeant at arms will be James Teats.

Democrat board
Democrat Party Executive Board will have a regular meeting at 12:30 p.m. at Otto’s Cafe.

Agenda items will include finalization of plans for the Crawford County Fair booth and the free public watermelon feed, which will be July 29 at the fairgrounds near Girard.

Franklin card party
FRANKLIN — Weekly card party will start at 1 p.m. at the Franklin  Community Center and Heritage Museum.

A variety of games will be played, depending on the number of participants. Possibilities include poker, bridge, hearts, pitch, pinochle and 31.

There will be no admission charge, and the coffee pot will be on. Anyone needing additional information may call 620-347-4220 or visit www.franklinkansas.com.

Golden Era
ARMA — Golden Era will meet at 2 p.m. at the Golden Era Hall for games and a dinner provided by the Arma Care Center.

The meeting will be open free to all area senior citizens.

SEK Interlocal
Southeast Kansas Interlocal No. 637 will have a regular board meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Interlocal office, 400 N. Pine

Music night
Monthly music and dance night will be held from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the Homer Cole Community Center.
Music is provided by area and local musicians for listening and dancing. There is a $1 cover charge, and refreshments are potluck. Coffee and beverages are included. Anyone needing additional information may call the center at 231-9773.
