Gorilla Toastmasters
Gorilla Toastmasters meets at 7 a.m. every Friday at Names and Numbers.
The group, open to the public, is designed to help members improve their public speaking skills.

Senior Citizens Club
Senior Citizens Club will meet at 1:30 p.m. at Lincoln Center. The group will celebrate August birthdays and play bingo.
Anyone needing additional information about the group may call the Pittsburg Parks and Recreation Department office at 231-8310.

Music program
GIRARD — Bob Hamlin, area musician, will present his annual pops music program at 1:30 p.m. at the Heritage Nursing Home, Girard. Featured will be music from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. The program will be open to all.
Hamlin has entertained residents at nursing and assisted living facilities in Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.

Legion bingo
Pittsburg American Legion Post No. 64 will host bingo, open to the public, at 6:30 p.m. at the post home, 2815 N. Joplin. The canteen will be open.

Cruise night
COLUMBUS — Wheels of Fun Car Club will host cruise night at 6 p.m. at Columbus Tire, 720 N. High School, Columbus.
Dash plaques, trophies, door prizes and a 50/50 pot will be offered. Music will be provided by DJ Everett Wilson. Anyone needing additional information may call 620-674-8531 or 620-597-2746.

Joplin dance
JOPLIN — The Joplin Shrine Club will host a dance, open to the public, from 7 to 10 p.m. at 1040 S. Joplin Ave. Doors will open at 5 p.m., and food will be available. Music will be provided by the Bob Russell Band.
Admission will be $5 at the door. Anyone needing additional information may call 417-782-6116.
