TOPS #884
TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) #884, Pittsburg, will meet at the Knights of Columbus Towers.
Weigh-in will begin at 9 a.m., with the meeting starting at 9:35 a.m. All interested persons may attend. Anyone needing additional information may call 231-5447.

‘SpookTacular’
Pittsburg Parks and Recreation Department will host “SpookTacular” from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in Pittsburg Memorial Auditorium.
Activities will include a costume contest, with registration from 5:30 to 5:55 p.m. and the contest at 6 p.m., arts and crafts, games, treat bags and a magic show presented by Magic Scott Henderson.
Admission will be $2 per person. Children under 2 will be admitted free, unless they are entering the costume contest.
Anyone needing additional information may call the Parks and Recreation office at 231-8310.

Sperry-Galligar Audubon
Sperry-Galligar Audubon will meet at 7 p.m. in room 102, Yates Hall, Pittsburg State University.
A free public informational program will be presented on “Kansas Threatened and Endangered Species” by Ed Miller, Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks biologist. He will discuss the listing/delisting process for threatened or endangered species in Kansas.
Nine of 21 species petitioned were selected for review. Miller will present a brief look at the evidence regarding the status of the nine species under  review, which include the bald eagle and peregrine falcon.
There will also be a short piece on birds titled “Wing Tips. Refreshments will be served.

Frontenac bingo
Frontenac American Legion will sponsor bingo, open to the public, every Thursday at the Frontenac Senior Citizens Center. Doors open at 5 p.m., and play starts at 6:30 p.m. A total of 16 games are played, and the evening usually ends around 8:30 p.m.
