‘Dinner with a Purpose’
Vie Medical Clinic will serve “Dinner with a Purpose” from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., hosted at the First Church of the Nazarene.
Menu will feature rigatoni, tossed salad, green beans, bread, assorted desserts and tea, lemonade or coffee. Cost is a suggested donation of $5 per person.
Vie Medical Clinic serves primarily as a faith-based, crisis pregnancy medical clinic providing free confidential pregnancy testing with peer counseling, limited obstetrical ultrasound, STI/STD testing and treatment and a men’s mentoring program. Main funding is provided through donations.

Birthday celebration
GIRARD — A celebration in honor Mary Senecaut’s 80th birthday will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. in St. Michael’s Catholic Hall, Girard.
Friends and relatives are invited to stop by and help celebrate the occasion. It is requested that gifts be omitted, but cards will be welcome.
Legion dance
Pittsburg American Legion Post 64 will host a dance, open to the public, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the post home, 2815 N. Joplin. Music will be provided by “Cotton.”
Lounge will open at 1 p.m.
Show-Me Harmony
Show-Me Harmony Chorus of Sweet Adelines will present the musical comedy “Here Come the Clowns” at 3 p.m. in Pittsburg Memorial Auditorium.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger.
The show will also feature the Multigenerational Women’s Chorus under the direction of Susan Laushman and Ninth Hour, a southern gospel quartet from Webb City, Mo.

Weir blood drive
WEIR — American Red Cross will conduct a blood drive from 11:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the CAP Building, Lincoln and Forest, Weir.

Masonic Lodge
Pittsburg Masonic Lodge No. 187 Coffee Club will meet at 8 a.m. for coffee and doughnuts at the Masonic Center.

Frontenac card games
Card games will be played from 1 to 4 p.m. every Monday except holidays at the Frontenac Senior Citizens Building. Primary game is pinochle, but any card game is welcome, and those who wish may bring their own bridge foursome.

Win or Bust 4-H
CHEROKEE — Win or Bust 4-H Club will meet at 7 p.m. at the Cherokee United Methodist Church.
Members should bring their enrollment card. Election of officers will be conducted. Every member is asked to bring a dessert, and the Renn family will furnish beverages.
Sewing Guild
GIRARD — Mid America Sewing Guild will meet at 7 p.m. in Girard.
Following the business meeting will be a talk on the National Sewing Guild Convention and a report on the Sewing Expo in Kansas City.
Due are Christmas stockings made by members for upcoming community projects.
Joyce Row will host the Christmas party at 6 p.m. Dec. 7 on 220th Street (Langdon Lane). Members should bring a covered dish. Meat and beverages will be provided. Charm Block card game will be played, and each member should bring 12 five-inch squares of cotton for the game, as well as one fat quarter for the drawing and an exchange gift under $10.
New guild members are Cindy Kiser, Erie, and Helen Swartz, Fort Scott. Guild members receive discounts from many fabric stores, “Sew News” and “Vogue Magazines.” American Sewing Guild also offers discounts or free items for members.
